According to the news from the Raspberry Pi Foundation they are aiming for the new Pi to be used as a real PC but also as a useful industrial computer. Raspberry Pi 4 now comes with quad-core 64-bit processor running at 1.5GHz; 1, 2 or 4 GB of RAM; built-in Bluetooth Low Energy 5.0; Gigabit Ethernet support; 2x USB 3.0 ports and 2x micro-HDMI support capable of supporting up to 4K video at 60 fps. Bluetooth 5 and Gigabit Ethernet are supported to satisfy the needs of the IIoT community together with several low speed serial interfaces: 4xUART, 4xSPI, and 4xI2C. By having more processing power Pi 4 can now be used for Edge computing applications and also for machine learning (ML) running on the device.
