We have already passed the news about UK government announcement for code of practice around consumer IoT devices, but it seems that IoT security is becoming important issue in the eyes of the government. So, a Governor of California Jerry Brown signed Bill SB-327 – first IoT related cyber-security law in one of the US states. Bill SB-327 just states that the vendors of IoT devices “shall equip the device with a reasonable security feature or features”, but you can find deeper view on this legislation here.
We will see if this trend will roll up in other countries as well, I’m especially keen to see when we’ll have first steps of governments in SEE region. If you have any information in that sense, please share with us.
