This year’s Amazon Devices Event announcement brought us 12 new smart devices and the pricing for some of them is really competitive – 60 USD for AmazonBasis Microwave is a good price for a microwave in home appliance segment.

Anyhow, this Amazon’s announcement got me thinking of how important is the product’s security from a manufacturer standpoint. If I decided to allow it to access my day to day personal life, I want to trust that product in the same manner as I trust my family and friends. In today’s connected world, news spread instantly, so some issue with product’s security could shake the trust of the consumers and thus have negative or even deadly impact on manufacturer’s business.

A good thing behind this assumption is that we consumers can embrace the technology with no fear and enjoy the benefits it’s bringing to us. So, pretty soon I’ll see if Echo Wall Clock will help me and my family not to be late anymore.
