Google Cloud Next ‘18 had over 23 000 attendees and there were many interesting news from the fields of  collaboration, security and IoT.  I’ll be focusing on the most important ones in regards to IoT world:

Cloud IoT Edge – SW for IoT gateway devices running Android Things/Linux. Since the focus of Cloud IoT Edge is on enabling and managing edge-based machine learning, we can jump right on to the next important announcement – Edge TPU.

Edge TPU is a chip designed to offer machine learning inference on edge device, with goal of offering lower power consumption and lower cost for it.

I found these two announcement most interesting, since we see Google offering differentiated solution in the area of IoT edge technologies. If you are interested in other announcements from Google Cloud Next ’18 you can read about it on Google’s Blog.
